FOREVER VASA

Adhatoda vasica

An excellent remedy for cough and asthama.

 An evergreen, highly branched shrub with unpleasant smell (foetid scent). The older stem is greyish–green, warty and woody. The leaves are large, bright green, leathery, and lance like with pointed tip. The leaves are bitter to taste. The flowers are 2-lipped (appears like snake with mouth open), creamy - white with purple streaks on the lower lip of the flowers. They are arranged on a dense leafy spike. The fruit are compressed capsule. Seed are orbicular compressed.

Health benefits. 

decoction is a very good bronchodilator and expectorant, in cough and dyspnoea and other respiratory disorders. Also lowers blood pressure.

Leaf juice is hemostatic, hence useful in many types of bleeding disorders. It constricts blood vessels may increase blood pressure. 

Ayurvedic properties

Pitta and kapha pacifier, in excess aggravates vata, expectorant, anti microbial and insecticidal, specifically acts on blood and respiratory tract and stomach.

Traditional uses

Decoction is used in dyspnea, asthma and cough.

Vasa smoke is useful in asthma for breaqtrhelessnes.

Vasa powder with honey is also useful in epistaxis, hemoptysis, 

Dose:

3-6 g powder with honey

Decoction-40 to 80 ml.
